On June 18th, the Supreme Court ruled against the Trump administration’s attempt to eliminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, protecting nearly 700,000 young immigrants (DREAMers) from deportation and allowing them to remain in the U.S. Children who have been here in America their entire lives would have been deported to a country they did not know. This close (5-4) decision preserves the program and allows DACA recipients to renew their membership while providing them with the injunction to work in the United States.

Although the Supreme Court ruled in favor of DACA, it’s important to remember that the Trump Administration can make another attempt to end the program. Meanwhile, they can continue their daily lives of work and school. If you have an immigration matter, please contact our office at (631)643-3084 and we will be happy to help you. We have bilingual staff available.
